Wellbeing

Well-being isn’t a tick box here – it’s essential to a child’s success. At Hunter Christian School, student wellbeing is at the core of everything we do.

Whole Student Care

Our revamped Pastoral/Academic Care (PAC) time offers 25 minutes each day for students to connect, reflect, and develop the social and emotional skills they need to flourish. This dedicated time supports a whole-school approach to wellbeing, employing consistent language, systems, and shared values to create a safe and supportive environment for every student.

Open Parachute

Our whole school wellbeing program, integrates evidence-based tools that teach resilience, empathy, and self-awareness through engaging weekly modules.

Pulse

Our student wellbeing tracker, provides valuable insights into students’ feelings each week, helping us shape responsive initiatives throughout the school.

Pastoral Care

Dedicated Pastoral Care staff ensuring that every student is seen, supported, and equipped to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, we are committed to fostering a nurturing and enriching environment for all.

Discovery Team

Discovery Team with educators focussed on supporting students with additional needs. Individual learning plans are created for our young people who need adjustments to support their neurodiverse ways of learning. Regular collaboration with external professionals and collaboration with parents is important throughout this process.

Onsite Psychologist

Our onsite school psychologist is available to support students with emotional, social, and wellbeing needs. Students can access confidential guidance in a safe setting, helping them build resilience, manage challenges, and remain engaged in their learning and school life.
