Building Futures at Hunter Christian School: Pathways for Every Student

In 2026, the HCS Business Academy is off to a strong start, offering a wide range of opportunities across Vocational Education and Training (VET), careers, and personalised pathways.

From hands-on trade experiences to academic excellence and creative pursuits, students at HCS are empowered to explore their passions and build a pathway that reflects their unique gifts.

Expanding Opportunities Through VET

This year, Hunter Christian School is proud to offer four internal VET courses, including Certificate II in Construction, Certificate III in Business, Certificate III in Fitness, and Certificate III in Christian Leadership. Delivered in partnership with Independent Schools NSW and Hillsong College, these programs provide students in Years 10–12 with practical, career-focused learning experiences.

Student participation in external TAFE courses has also reached record levels, with learners pursuing studies in fields such as Screen & Media, Health Services Assistance, Electrotechnology, Community Services, Hairdressing, and Information Technology—all aligned with their future ambitions.

School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs) continue to grow, giving senior students the opportunity to work one day a week while gaining industry experience in areas including construction, childcare, IT, nursing, retail, and business.

Director of Pathways and Partnerships, Kristin Clulow, said the school is deeply committed to helping students discover and develop their potential.

“At Hunter Christian School, we offer personalised pathways that help ignite each student’s gifts and passions. We want our school to be a place where students are actively building their future—whether that’s through academic study, apprenticeships, or trade pathways. HCS is a place where high school helps you get where you want to be, and we are there for you every step of the way.”

Through partnerships with organisations like CareerLinks, Regional Industry Education Partnerships, TAFE, and universities, HCS ensures students have access to a wide network of opportunities and guidance.
