Year 11 Camp - 2018
Fancy riding an inflatable behind a speeding ski boat?
What about clambering over a slippery, mobile, 250 metre long floating obstacle course?
Or wakeboarding?
Or waterskiing?
Or stand-up paddle-boarding?
Or dining out in Port Macquarie?
Sounds like fun? Not the kind of Year 11 camp you went to – but always wished you did?
They are just a few highlights of the camp Year 11 just enjoyed at Stoney Creek Ski Resort in Telegraph Point.
The intrepid year group – under the inspired leadership of Miss Mel Collins – spent three days on the beautiful mid-north coast testing themselves, breaking boundaries and finding new limits. Getting the group to sleep at night was not really an issue!
As well as all the physical challenges, the year group were also challenged to consider the question “Can we decide to live well?” – beginning an exploration of Positive Psychology and the PERMAV framework.
So, after three days of action-packed activities, getting back to the classroom seems a little tame. But all I can say is, bring on next year!
