30th Anniversary of our first Year 12!
This year marks the 30th anniversary since our School’s first Year 12 students sat for the HSC exams in 1988. This student group was the first Year 12 cohort from a Christian School in the Hunter Region.
Birthed as a ministry of Mayfield Baptist Church in 1981, Mayfield Christian Community School was a leader in Christian Education in the region. New beginnings brought new opportunities for Christian Education.
A few things have changed over the years; the school’s name changed from Mayfield Christian Community School to Hunter Christian School, the logo has changed a few times, we’ve had great staff come and go – and some come back again, not to mention the school uniforms and hairstyles that have changed significantly since the 1980s!
While lots of things have changed, our commitment to partnering with families in the education of their children and our desire to continue to create new beginnings for each and every student remains.
With a new Principal and Leadership team in 2018, we continue to develop and implement innovative learning opportunities for our students, continuing to provide the wonder of new beginnings and the opportunities that follow. Stay tuned as these opportunities are rolled out during 2018 and beyond.
We have the highest honour and the greatest responsibility, to empower every child to live life in all its fullness. Our passion is to provide opportunities, inspire possibilities and nurture every child, to draw out noble hearts, infinite minds and able hands.
