The AIS Research to Practice Initiative

Posted in News, Primary School, Teachers/Staff on Feb 18, 2018

Primary staff representing Kindergarten, Stages 1, 2 & 3 were in Sydney today to receive training in a new and exciting venture.

It's called the AIS Research to Practice Initiative.

The Association of Independent Schools (“AIS”) has recently commissioned a study by the University of Technology Sydney into Supporting the Effective Teaching of Primary Science and Technology.

As a response to that study the AIS has instituted the Research to Practice Initiative. The Research to Practice Initiative will support HCS staff as they seek to improve teaching practices and student outcomes, particularly in the area of science. The initiative provides several training sessions throughout the year and a dedicated consultant / coach to assist with the process.

Staff will collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data from students to identify areas of weakness to inform the development of a strategic teaching plan to implement best practice methods and provide our students with the best instruction available.

We look forward to seeing the results of this great work.
