Learning Support Aide

School Chaplain

Hunter Christian School is a caring and growing school community seeking to increase the provision of Chaplaincy services to students.

We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Chaplain to engage with students, but particularly our young men. The ability to interact with students in outdoor and sporting settings would be an advantage.

It is expected that applicants would be:

  • Committed Christians, actively involved in a local church
  • Already hold or be working towards a Certificate IV in Youth Work or Pastoral Care (or equivalent) including competencies in ‘mental health’ and ‘making appropriate referrals’
  • Able to collaborate with educational and health professionals in the provision of care for students
  • Committed to the vision of Christian schooling

This is a part-time position for 1-2 days per week depending on the suitability and availability of applicants. Enterprise Agreement wages and conditions apply. Hunter Christian School is a Child Safe School. Employment screening for working with children is mandatory.

Accounts Administration Traineeship

Who you’ll be working with

During your traineeship, you’ll be employed by us, while completing on-the-job training with our Host Employer, Hunter Christian School. We’ll provide you with ongoing mentoring and support to help you achieve your career goals and unleash your true potential.

What you’ll be doing

You will complete a Certificate III in Accounts Administration over 24 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to complete:

  • General reception duties
  • Processing of purchase orders
  • Accounts receivable and payable duties
  • Payroll functions

What you’ll bring to the table

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to both on and off the job training
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions
  • Demonstrated interest in accounts
  • High level of attention to detail
  • First aid certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Check or willingness to obtain
  • P1 drivers’ licence or higher
  • Candidates who are actively involved in their Christian church are encouraged to apply
