Hunter Christian School is a Child Safe School. Inclusive Education Teacher - Secondary

Hunter Christian School is a P-12 school community in Newcastle that has set itself the ambitious goal of a renewed vision and approach to education. We are seeking a passionate educator with the capacity to work with teachers to develop student learning plans and coordinate special provisions.

This is a Permanent Part-Time position (0.6 FTE) commencing in Term 1, 2022 for an experienced teacher (minimum 2 years or with experience within our school community). Graduate or Post-Graduate qualifications in Special Education preferred.

The priority of the role is to support the learning of students in Years 7-12 with diverse learning needs as a member of the Secondary Teaching Team, reporting directly to the Director of Studies.

Essential attributes:

  • Capacity to screen to inform a student's learning profile.
  • Supervision skills to oversee special provisions for specific students during examinations.
  • Collaborative skills to plan meetings with students, parents and staff.
  • Ability to differentiate learning activities and assessment as required.
  • Ability to follow Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) procedures.
  • Capacity to co-plan, co-teach, co-debrief and co-reflect with Secondary educators.
  • Ability to work with small groups or with an individual for either extension or support.
  • Willingness to liaise with medical and educational professionals for assessments, diagnoses, and the implementation of support programs.
  • Knowledge and or experience in developing student plans (such as Individual Education Plans and Education Support Plans).

Senior Mathematics Teacher (FT permanent)

Hunter Christian School is a P-12 school community in Newcastle that has set itself the ambitious goal of a renewed vision and approach to education. We are seeking a passionate educator with the capacity to teach 7-12 Mathematics. The ability to teach Extension Mathematics would be an advantage.

Employment Application Guide

Bus Driver / Groundsman

Hunter Christian School is looking for a licensed Bus Driver who can help us service our regular school operated morning and afternoon bus runs. While primarily a Bus Driving position , the position could also include groundskeeping and general maintenance responsibilities for the right applicant.

If the following sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you:

  • A committed Christian, actively involved in your local church
  • Holding as a minimum a Light Rigid licence (Medium Rigid preferred)
  • Experienced with basic vehicle detailing and maintenance
  • Experience in general groundskeeping, general maintenance and / or a trade qualification

We’re open to discussing Part-time or Full-time options with the right applicant.
